After reviewing Genius Joy, we’ve come to the conclusion that it’s good at what it does: boosting your mood. What it’s not as good at however is the main cognitive boosts that you would get with your standard nootropic.
You can read our full review below, but if you’re looking to just boost your mood – it should be what you looking for. However, if you want more comprehensive cognitive benefits for your brain and mind you may want to use something else.
You can see what I’m using at the moment for my stack at the moment here.

Genius Joy Ingredients
If you want to use Genius Joy to boost your cognition, we may have to suggest you take another supplement.
However, if you want to use Genius Joy for your mood (for “Joy”) it’s a pretty good choice.
There are plenty of backed mood boosters in Genius Joy that we think could help lift you into that positive mindset.
Aside from that though, there’s not much in it.
Below, we look at the main ingredients in Genius Joy along with our summary and suggestions on how it may be improved.
This is what you need to know:
S-Adenosyl-L-Methionine (SAMe) Tosylate Disulfate (as Adomix)
SAMe is an okay start to Genius Joy – but we’re not sure how much good it’ll actually do. When your levels of S-Adenosyl-L-Methionine are low, that’s when people start to experience depression.
SAMe in Genius Joy may help if you’re going through a deficiency of this component – but if you’re not, it’s unlikely to deliver much benefit.
This is a great ingredient to see in Genius Joy. NALT (N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine) has numerous benefits which has great benefits when it comes to cognition.
The main benefit NALT has in Genius Joy is that it can help relax you by reducing you levels of cortisol which can help you to focus and feel more at ease throughout the day.
This can also help to reduce brain fog and allow you to be more focused.
Rhodiola5Plus Rhodiola Rosea
Another good mood and focus booster in Genius Joy. It’s relieving to see that they did their research and are taking the mood aspects of this nootropic seriously.
Rhodiola Rosea is a Scandinavian herb in Genius Joy which has been seen in numerous studies to help promote mood and feelings of well-being while reducing depression and fatigue.
It’s good for getting you into an energized positive mood to help you be more productive.
Red Panax Ginseng
This isn’t a strong option in Genius Joy. We can see some of the rationale behind it, but believe there are plenty of other options out there to do a similar job.
Red Panax Ginseng can help promote your body’s levels of nitric oxide and boost blood flow around your body. This can help with nutrient absorption, but also with getting more blood, glucose, oxygen and nutrients to your brain.
We think Maritime Pine Bark would’ve been a better choice for Genius Joy, mainly because it does the same thing but also has some neuroprotective qualities.
HTPurity Griffonia Simplicifolia
Another good addition for mood in Genius Joy. Griffonia Simplicifolia is an effective choice because it is a good source of 5-HTP.
5-HTP is a great source for promoting your mood. Supplementing it in Genius Joy allows your body to convert it into serotonin. Serotonin is the feel good hormone, and getting more of it can help to improve your overall mood and positivity.
NeuroFactor Coffea Arabica
This may not be the best option in Genius Joy. It does have some benefits though, it comes from a blend of coffee arabica which has been seen to help overall brain health.
It can support maintenance, repair and protection against neuro-degeneration of your brain.
However it may have a level of caffeine which could cause energy crashes afterwards.
It’s not the ideal choice in Genius Joy.
This is a good compliment for the Coffee in Genius Joy.
L-Theanine is an amino acid in Genius Joy which can help to promote your overall levels of relaxation and focus. Not only that, it works well with the caffeine and helps the focus last longer, and to some extent can help to reduce the jitters and crashes.
B6 and B12 can help your brainpower in Genius Joy.
They don’t have any specific nootropic benefits but it can help support cerbral circulation which can help with brain health down the line.
There are some studies out there that show not getting enough Vitamin D3 (which is a real problem considering we absorb the majority of it from sunlight) may affect cognition poorly.
As we spend most of our time indoors, it becomes an issue getting the optimum amount for the best cognitive benefit.
By supplementing D3 in Genius Joy you can help restore some of that balance and give it more support to protect you from cognitive decline.
What could help Genius Joy?
Aside from the mood boosters, we think this nootropic is lacking. It needs a lot more ingredients which can help improve your overall cognition.
There are several must-haves that we think would help this supplement:
- Citicoline – Helps boost overall brain energy and reduces fogginess, plenty of studies on it.
- Phosphatidylserine – Good for mood, memory, focus and reducing cognitive decline.
- Maritime Pine Bark Extract – Can help promote bloodflow to the brain and contains neuro-protective properties.
With those in the mix, Genius Joy would be a lot more formidable.
Is Genius Joy Safe?
All the ingredients in Genius Joy have not been linked to causing any side effects and appears to be safe to use.
You shouldn’t experience any problems from taking it. Genius Joy appears to be secure.
If any side effects are reported, we’ll be sure to update this review.
Where to buy Genius Joy
There are numerous online retailers that sell Genius Joy, but the main place that you get it from is Amazon.com.
You can also buy Genius Joy direct from their website, also CVS, Ebay, Predator Nutrition and more.
It retails at around $55.00 and we suggest going straight to the Genius Brand website and get it straight from the source. This helps you to avoid counterfeits.
Genius Joy Reviews: Reddit
When it comes to nootropics, a lot of people turn to Reddit.com for advice.
Sometime’s they’re correct, sometimes they’re not. There’s a lot of people on there.
At the moment they appear to support Genius Joy. One user claimed their mother takes Genius Joy and they definitely notice a difference in her after she’s taken it.
Here’s what they had to say:
And for those who can’t read the screenshot, here’s the transcript:
“It’s a bit pricey, although I think the SAMe is probably the most expensive ingredient. That being said, my mother absolutely swears by it, she buys a jar every month and says that nothing else has been provided the same benefits in terms of mood improvement and reduction of irritability. I can definitely see the difference in her mood when she doesn’t take it. It is a blend which generally doesn’t bode well for nootropics, however this does seem to be one where they at least put a decent amount of each ingredient. I’ve not tried it myself so I can’t definitively say what it feels like, but it does seem to work for her.”
Seems like a generally positive take.
Genius Joy – Serotonin Mood Booster Review
We believe that Genius Joy is good for mood, and to some extent cognition.
If that’s all you’re looking for, have at it. However, if you want mood, memory, focus, or just generally more of a better cognitive experience – we recommend you use a more comprehensive nootropic.
Something that covers more angles and contains more of study-backed options like Phosphatidylserine, Citicoline, Maritime Pine Extract and more.
It would be better to see more of those in here – Genius Joy is a good mood enhancer but average to poor nootropic.
